Imagine you are a primary school-aged child.
What would you pack in your suitcase?
Why?
I think I would pack my favorite picture book
because I like reading. And I will also pack a
snow globe my mom and dad gifted me on
my birthday. It is very pretty and entertaining
to see the snowflakes float and settle down again.
(But it probably won't happen, since it's too fragile.)
Why is play important to children?
Because it fosters a child's creativity, develop and
exercises the brain. Improves mood, engage them
in interactions.
Why might play be important to a child experiencing trauma?
Because it may be soothing and keep their minds off the
terrible situation or bad memories. It can also make them happier.
